Another Successful Food Taster Night at Coed.

In early February 2019 we held our annual sell out Food Taster event which included our own Coed Wedding catering team, Dan and Jon, a few local Wedding suppliers and live music showcasing our large and small barns dressed as a Wedding and Events venue. The food was incredible, the atmosphere was chilled and ambient and the vibe electric! Watch out for another one later this year :)

The Coed Team is in full swing this week with a mission of erecting new accommodation for the 2019 season. Our new glamping huts will accommodate two persons comfortably and be very basic inline with the ethics at Coed.

They are fully insulated with solar lighting and USB connection points for charging your essentials. These are great for a one or two night stay after and event or for one of the many spiritual and mental health courses that we run at Coed :)

Branwen, Our Railway Carriage

Winter time at Coed is a chance for us to complete new projects or just update our facilities.  Our 1940's Railway Carriage, Branwen, has a small "cwtch" area in the rear made from rammed tyres, recycled bottles and a cob style wall. It was used as Coed crew space and was in much need of a transformation.

The task was taken on by our Wedding Planner, Sharron. She says "It was initially daunting and painting over the dark walls took some time. But as soon as the lighter more calming vintage blue hues were added to the walls the space was transformed".

The result was incredible and very much the wow factor. A very shabby chic, romany style space with a very boho vintage feel which we think looks inviting and very homely. My mind drifts to the log fire roaring, sat wrapped in a blanket with a book and a glass of warming whisky or red wine or just a warm mug of herbal tea made from a whistling kettle on the burner.........pure bliss.

As we are an environmentally aware space and have visitors from all walks of life, all the paint used are Eco and Vegan friendly. All the furniture is second hand and up cycled plus lots of the decorations and curiosities are those created by the artists at Coed including the Pallet chair and Wooden Blanket Box by Wood Reincarnations and the Ceramic hearts by Dove Love Ceramics .

The electricity in the carriage is harnessed from our solar panels making this little home off-grid and guilt free.

We think this is a very cosy little retreat for all our future guests at Coed....

Thankyou Sharron :)

Edible Gardens

At Coed Weddings we have a variety of edible flowers in the grounds suitable for decorating a naked cake, adding to salad, decorating food or adding to a water cravat...so please do not buy these in unnecessarily if you are booked to hold your event at Coed, as this causes additional packaging and increases your carbon footprint having it delivered when its free and on our doorstep....think ethically and utilise your surroundings...we can supply a list of edible flowers at Coed which you can use to identify and harvest them for your Wedding Day. Help us

to create a Zero waste event space and revolutionise the events industry :)

The Duck Pond at Coed is now taking shape....

Early Autumn 2018 saw the beginning of our duck pond being dug out close to the Dragon Wagon.  The winter saw the project hibernate for a few months until last weekend when the project started to move forward again. The pond base has been compact with clay and then lined with a strong pond liner so we can hold large quantities of collected rain water providing a diverse eco-system and a spectacular water feature.

The pond is fully fenced for safety and will have lots of pond life, plants and possibly a few ducks for our guests to enjoy....watch this space for updates

So the 2018 Wedding season has begun.....

Our 2018 Wedding season began with a blessing from the weather on two of the hottest weekends so far this year. The Weddings were both so different yet filled with so much love, friendship, laughter and happiness.  I am looking forward to the remainder of the Wedding season and meeting so many more couples who become friends of Coed and sharing our venue with so many creative photographers.  The following stunning images were taken on the Wedding Day of Claire and Josh on 26th May 2018 by Graham Davies Photography

Thankyou to all our couples who joined us at Coed for a Food Taster night with delicious street style food and canapés provided by the freelance Coed Wedding Catering Team, Dan, Jon and Simon.  Dan and his team can provide food for all food preferences including speciality Vegetarian and Vegan options. The atmosphere was so relaxed with our resident musicians at Coed keeping the vibe very chilled and creating the homely feel that we love to share with our guests.

Pipes Beers and Vantage Point events ran the licensed bar and Dove Love Ceramics showcased their Wedding Cake toppers and ceramic personalised Wedding Favours. We shall be holding another Food Taster night later in the year with a few more Wedding suppliers showcasing at the event so keep your eyes peeled as ticket numbers will be limited again and they sell out pretty quickly.....

And the floor is now complete.....

After a hectic February, the new limestone floor is now in place and has transformed the event space. Now we are looking forward to sharing it with all our 2018 Grooms and Brides

Coed Weddings Wedding Barn Ceremony Wales

And so it begins........

The flooring work has started at Coed and needs levelling before the limestone slabs and circular wooden dance floor can be laid...just 4 weeks before the first event of 2018...no pressure 😊

New Flooring for the Big Barn!!!

All the monies that we raise at Coed Weddings are used to cover overheads and to invest back into our beautiful event space and to educate our guests and visitors on the benefits of self sufficiency, low impact and eco-friendly living...this includes everyday choices that we can all make which can have a huge impact of our environmental footprint...the monies we have raised in 2017 has enabled us to replace the flooring in the main event space so it gets a fresh new look for 2018......keep watching for updates :)

Look out for New Menus from Coed Catering as a new head chef joins the team

Due to a huge demand for our onsite catering team we have appointed a new head chef to take on all enquiries and will be producing new menus for 2018.....keep checking back for an exciting taster and entertainment night in early spring.........

Fred's Yurts come to Coed

As of 2018, we shall be welcoming the arrival of a semi-permanent Yurt village at Coed which will be able to accommodate additional guests during all events and Weddings at Coed. These yurts are beautiful in structure and add a bohemian feel to your event at Coed.

Fred's yurts are booked direct wth the owner and not part of the package that Coed currently offer as part of our onsite Wedding accommodation. Please get in touch with Fred for a quote based on the number of yurts you require for your special day www.yurtevents.co.uk

Our first Blog Entry for 2017!!

February 22, 2017

Welcome to our very first blog at Coed Weddings!! This is an exciting time for Coed as we have lots going on around the site.  The station wagons are all being repaired and new canvases ordered for the yurts for the new Wedding season, whilst the gardens are now being cleared and cultivated to remove the dead foliage as new life bursts through the soil. The barn has had a huge clear out and we are looking forward to sharing our venue and home with our 2017 Wedding couples and new visitors!!
