Ben Spice Catering

Coed has its very own resident chef ready to offer his services for your day. Ben Spice trained and worked alongside Gordon Ramsay as chef de partie, in his three Michelin star French cuisine restaurant located in the heart of London until 2009. Here, he mastered the craft of serving an exceptional standard of contemporary European food. This passion saw him take the role as Head Chef at London-based Waterstones Restaurant, an ethical and eco-friendly canal-side restaurant, which not only uses seasonal foods from organic sources but invests in the local community and offers the opportunity for the disadvantaged to access careers within the catering industry.

In 2012, Ben stepped away from the bright lights of London, to travel the world which enhanced his understanding of worldwide cuisine. Having lived in Australia, New Zealand and Bali, his interest in foraged wild food escalated. Noticing the huge void between the commercial food industry and living honestly alongside nature, he embarked on a journey to educate himself on eating from the wild. This journey brought him to Coed where he is currently replanting the woodland with native wild berries and fungi. Here he intends to set up a Wild Food Kitchen to teach and educate others about wild food and the ethical advantages of eating with the seasons.

Ben and his team can provide you with any style food imaginable and the presentation is just perfection not to mention the taste.

Whether you choose a three course Wedding banquet, buffet style menu, street style food or just a casual hog roast, you can be assured that Ben and the team will help create the most perfect meal with your assistance in choosing the menu that suits yours and your guests needs, whether its food allergies, intolerances or vegetarian/vegan options, and most of all working within a realistic catering budget.

If you are willing to serve your guests a seasonal menu we can offer the ultimate experience by providing a large quantity of ingredients from our neighbouring onsite organic market gardens at Coed Organics. Our experienced organic gardeners can discuss your requirements with our caterers and serve a very wholesome feast.

The gardens also are home to our own beehives and we produce our own honey which can also be used in our foods and desserts.

All our food is prepared on site from scratch by experienced chefs so it’s super-fresh and super-tasty. Even on the big day itself our chefs can be seen in the gardens cutting fresh herbs and edible flowers to give your meal that extra special touch

We do our best to advise our customers of all the ingredients to our foods just incase of allergies. Any allergies will need to be discussed with Ben so he can take the necessary precautions.
